Google Sheets is the online spreadsheets service from Google. It works very much like Microsoft Excel, but everything is hosted on Google's Cloud, you can share and edit everything cooperatively online.
The Google Sheets Plugin will create a new spreadsheet in your Google Drive once you connect it and dump all past submissions to it. It will keep adding new row every time the form is submitted.
If new submissions come with fields for which there isn't a column in the worksheet, the plugin will add new columns. You can reorder the columns, that won't break the plugin. You can also edit formatting, add new columns (with formulas, for example) or delete old rows.
Form Setup
Before using the Google Sheets Plugin you must have a Formspree form. Any HTML form will work and there are no special fields, either required or optional.
Connecting to Google Sheets
Note: If you're using the Formspree CLI please instead refer to our article Send submission to Google Sheets spreadsheet to connect to Google Sheets.
If you have a form, you can connect it to Google Sheets by clicking at the Google Sheets Plugin button.
The modal will tell you the name of the spreadsheet that will be created for you, it's usually the name of the form. After you click on "Connect" you'll get a link to your just created Spreadsheet.
Nothing more has to be done. Your submissions will be automatically sent to the sheet and you can come back and click the Google Sheets Plugin button anytime you want to navigate to the sheet quickly or disable or delete the plugin.
Please note that if you delete the plugin and then create it again a new spreadsheet will be created (but your old one won't be deleted).
